Description
There are some parts of an AR platform rifle or pistol that you should never have to think about. The buffer retainer is one of them. Perhaps you’ll install one when you build the rifle or push it down to remove your buffer and spring in order to change out something or do a deep cleaning. Other than that, it should simply keep the spring from moving to where it ought not to. Unless it breaks.

This is a part we would recommend simply installing in a new rifle to be done with it, and keeping one or two more in your workbench space at home. These install in the same spot, and in the same way as the widely-varying quality factory parts, but are almost certainly much harder, and therefore much less likely to break. An RBR is a great way to ensure that your rifle is as reliable as possible.
